Bjúgnakrækir or Sausage Thief (20th Dec.) is the ninth Yule Lad to make his way down from the mountains. Once he spots a house, he heads straight to the kitchen. In the old days, he had to climb up to the rafters to get at the tasty sausages hung there to smoke over the fire. These days life is a lot easier for Sausage Thief - he simply opens the refrigerator door! Heute geht der Wurstdieb in Island um. Wenn Bjúgnakrækir ein Haus sieht, verschwindet er sofort in der Küche. Früher ist er die Sparren hinauf geklettert, um an die leckere Wurst zu kommen, die über dem Feuer hing. Heutzutage ist es viel einfacher für ihn, er braucht er nur noch die Kühlschranktür zu öffnen.
